In his keynote presentation, YB Tuan Aznan Tamin, Johor State EXCO of Education and Information, emphasized Johor’s strong commitment to building a resilient, sustainable, and competitive economy in an era defined by technology, innovation, and the knowledge economy. Under the Johor Progressive Vision 2030 (Wawasan Johor 2030), the state focuses on strengthening investments, advancing the digital economy, developing skilled human capital, and promoting sustainable growth aligned with ESG principles. In 2023, Johor achieved RM70.6 billion in approved investments, the highest in Malaysia.

Strategic initiatives such as the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone (JS-SEZ) and the Johor Talent Development Centre (JTDC) are driving efforts to attract high-value investments, foster technology transfer, and prepare a future-ready workforce. Johor also leads through Waqaf Johor, promoting a modern waqf-based economic model that supports education, healthcare, entrepreneurship, and affordable housing.

By embracing inclusive technological development and forging strong collaborations between academia, industry, and government, Johor is paving the way for a more prosperous, competitive, and sustainable future, in line with its vision for 2030.
